SOLA?
Sorry for not writing in Luxemburgish.
It's from the Swedish state televison archives and it might be a good source or link for the SOLA article.
It is from Kongo/Katanga 1962 and I suppose it's captured from the Katanga gendarmerie.

Thanks a lot, that's indeed quite interesting. I will check it out. --Otets 15:30, 16. Mee 2008 (UTC)
Please do reply op Lëtzebuergisch - I need to learn and I do understand reasonable. Writing...is another matter.
Villmols merci for the reaction. I'm not sure I've seen one in Diekirch but I'll check the next time I'm in the army museum.
I think SOLA merits some attention since not that many arms have been produced here post WWII.
It is also mentioned in "Military Small Arms of the Twentieth Century" by Ian Hogg and John Weeks, 1973, isbn-0-695-80406-5.
I can copy the text but I'm not aware of the principles (copyright) of Wikipedia - above is my first contribution here.

Also, ech hunn do uewe geschriwwe gehat, datt ech merci soe well dat ganz intressant ausgesäit an ech mer dat ukucke wäert. Ech hat och soss nach e bësse Material vun engem anere kritt gehat, mee vill war et net an ech fannen et en plus elo net méi erëm. Ech menge mech awer nach z'erënneren, datt de Grupp Munhowen de Projet Sola mat initiéiert hätt. 1:1 kopéieren däerf een u sech keen Text op d'Wikipedia, mee et kann een awer déi Informatiounen déi een an engem Buch fënnt an den eegene Wierder erëmginn, dat ass erlaabt. Fuer emol duer, mer kucken dat dann. --Otets 20:37, 16. Mee 2008 (UTC)
Firstly, I have to correct myself - a friend pointed out that the gun in the clip is not a SOLA - it is a Belgian Vigneron, quite logic. So the link to the clip should be moved.
From the book, my abstract:
The Sola-Super was manufactured 1954-57 by Société Luxembourgoise d'Armes SA in Ettelbruck and exported to North and South America in some numbers. It was evaluated by many other countries but never adopted. It is a simple blowback design with only 38 parts. It has the possibility to fire single shots or fully automatic. The long barrel leads to a high muzzle velocity and above average accuracy. In 1957 an improved shortend version, the Sola-Lèger was presented but without sucess that led to that Sola quit the arms buisness.

Ech hunn dat elo an den Artikel abruet. Just datt se eng besonnesch héich Mündungsvitesse gehat sollt hunn dierft net stëmmen, déi war fir déi Zäit éischter an der gudder Moyenne. An datt d'USA oder Kanada der och kaaft sollen hu fannen ech soss néierens bestätegt. --Otets 23:18, 17. Mee 2008 (UTC)
Villmols merci,
Looks fine now. And even thoug Hogg and Weeks stated North America also I doubt it (maybe Mexico?).
Still maybe put the book as a reference,
Regards
Hans
Jo, dat Buch kéint een effektiv als Referenz uginn, mee da misst ech awer och nach d'Säitenzuel wëssen op deer een déi Informatiounen iwwert d'Sola fënnt. --Otets 14:38, 18. Mee 2008 (UTC)
"mee vu datt der just e puer an Afrika an der nach manner a Südamerika verkaaft goufen,": Mär sinn terribel gutt um Courant, a mär drécken eis onheemlech genee aus. Just wéivill sinn "e puer" a wéivill sinn "nach manner wéi e puer"? An anere Wierder: "Mär" hu keen Hauch vun enger Iddi vun enger Anung. --Cornischong 17:01, 19. Mee 2008 (UTC)
Gutt gesinn.
- Ech verstinn dat net richteg, besonnesch well ech mer deen Hummer net virstelle kann, mat deem een an deem enke Laf ka schaffen.
